Obedience

PPGS is successful because we employ proven and effective training methods and we are continuously searching for and developing new and advanced methods of training, thus we are able to train dogs with different purposes and temperaments.

Our training philosophy is that of a motivational method. We avoid physical compulsion as much as possible. The application of physical compulsion is governed by the individual dog’s temperament.

Our goal is to develop a good none stressful handler dog relationship. This kind of reduced conflict relationship produces a dog that will follow instructions instantly and with comfort, which means you will not see the dog exhibit confusion and fear, resulting in a negative and resentful relationship between handler and dog, not mention the negative effect on performance. Compulsion may have to be used in certain cases but we do not employ compulsion on a regular basis.

We believe that a dog physically compelled to do a certain task will be too worried about the punishment that it may receive resulting in distraction from the task at hand, aside from the proven fact that physical compulsion will definitely result in a reduction of drive causing the dog to become less “enthusiastic” which maybe only temporary in some cases depending on the temperament of the dog.

Training is proofed to assure the dog performs with reliability in the execution of its work. PPGS’s training and resources are second to none in Saudi Arabia.

We offer two options:

1. Training with you and your dog at your own premises:

This option allows you to directly interact with your dog during training, which eliminates the need for transitioning the dog to your control after training. This option also allows you to have hands on knowledge of how your dog was trained and what to expect from it in terms of performance.

Training cost for this option depends on:

• The drives of the individual dog. (The dog will be tested by our staff to evaluate drives)
• The level of training the dog already has.
• The breed of the dog.
• Dog trainability.
• The dog must poses advanced off-leash obedience.
• The program required.
• Total number of lessons required depends on how fast your dog can progress through the program.

Family Obedience Training:

A German shepherd dog trained by PPGS as a family (basic) obedience will do the following:

• Sit until released (on leash).
• Down until released (on leash).
• Come when called (on leash).
• Heal on a leash.

A Training Contract with cost per lesson is available as a guideline.

Advanced Obedience Training:

The Family Obedience Training Program serves as the foundation for the Advanced Obedience Training Program.

The difference in training is:

• Sit until released (off leash).
• Down until released (off leash).
• Come when called (off leash).
• Heal of leash.

A Training Contract with cost per lesson is available as a guideline.

This training program is required for the Family Protection Training Program and the Advanced Personal Protection Training Program.

As everyone has different interests in breeds of dogs and different interests in the level of training they want, it is impossible for us to give absolute rates until we have had an opportunity to test your dog and discuss your situation with you the rates provided in the above contracts are meant as guide lines to our pricing and contract structure.

2. Buying your dog from our affiliate's training kennel in the United States:

This option is geared more towards our high end clients that would like to have a trained dog ready at delivery to perform its prospective tasks. This option is expensive but worth the price, since this will include finding the right dog for the task you require, training, boarding and feeding your dog.

Training is guaranteed to be to your required parameters of performance. All dogs come with registration papers.
